process: mushroom grove

Never shying away from a new challenge, this client recently started a mushroom farm in southern Virginia. They have requested a home that can accommodate both their visiting family as well as host large gatherings of chefs and foodies who come to spend the weekend foraging, using the mushrooms, and enjoying the lake views. An existing house sits on the site but after a series of options looking at renovating, only the basement level will be used allowing for open, expansive views of the wooded lake from everywhere in the new first and second floors.
