This 1930s Dutch Colonial nestles itself in the middle of a beautiful and established neighborhood in Raleigh, North Carolina. The clients had recently downsized and their goal was to create a home that could still support their love for entertaining, while maintaining a small footprint and allowing for "nooks" to enable working at home or reading near a winter fire.

While the exterior of the house maintains its historic character,  the interior was gutted, turning seven small rooms on the ground floor into one flowing space that opens to the back patio, extending the entertaining space. The renovation also includes a “Laundry Bar” that winds from the open kitchen to the hearth room and a backyard Carriage House that was turned into a study and full 2nd floor guest suite.
